When the GGMTF is thought to be threatened it realizes its secretion that is toxic to all. They are not hunted due to this fact. You may see a snake take the frogs secretion if it needs to purge, just like a dog when he needs medicine properties from the grass. Generally, the female frog is larger than the male frog, and her secretion is also more potent to the male, due to the fact of protecting her babies!

So at harvest time which is a certain season of the year, the Frog is tracked down and gently tied with a piece of string to his arms and legs and the Kambo is removed from his skin. The Kambo is scraped onto small pieces of Bamboo wood, where it is then dried, wrapped in a dried leaf and shipped to its destination.

This medicine has been used in South America amongst the tribes for thousands of years. It first documented by a man in from France. Priest, Father Constantin Tastevin in 1925 close to the Jurua River in Brasil.
